    This is not a Select-A-Loc. As soon as I saw the clutch pack, I knew it was the Ected. And then you read it off the carrier. They are different.

    I have a question for you about an issue on my 2014 Maxima. If I get on the gas, my steering wheel jerks left or right. I have to let go of the wheel and let it happen or it will crash the car. When I let off the gas same thing the steering wheel jerks one way or the other and if you don't let go it will throw you off the road. Its not an alignment or the tires. Have you ever seen a problem like that? Any ideas?

    Yeah, I had a broken plastic fitting and swapped it out for brass. Weird, I barely remember all that went in to rebuilding my '90 Fatboy fuel system but it worked out great and I could do it again. Keihin CV carbs properly made the compromise between carburetion and fuel injection.

    Buyer beware. People do your research before buying a ford product. If it’s 1 mile over warranty ford will drop you. Remember it’s not a Toyota or Honda product. Ford engineering is terrible they simply can’t build a reliable 4 cylinder boosted engine.

    My first suspicion is always that there's a ground fault somewhere. My second guess is something wrong with the power steering module and when it glitches it disrupts coms to everything else downstream on the bus. 🤔 Third guess is that the wiper stalk wiring has chafed and it's shorting in a way that disrupts coms or takes the wiper module/body module offline? Idk this is a weird issue for sure. I'm super curious wtf is causing that!!!

    ok if i replace just the front two calipers, i should then bleed those 2 only right? the bleeding for all 4 was because he wanted a whole new set on all 4? would you bother to replace the rubber hose that connects to the brake hard line you removed in the beginning of video or if it doesnt appear worn out is it still good to go?

    • @robinsonsauto
      @robinsonsauto 4 дня назад

      Hey there! Yup, bleed the front two calipers only. as long as the reservoir did not go empty you should be ok. If the rubber hose is in good shape, no need to replace it. Happy fixing!

    This is exactly what happened to me. I thankfully found this video right away, looked under the vehicle and sure enough that's all it was. Took me about five minutes to remove the old brittle cracked one and put the new one in. It was a bit of work to get the new one in, and I used a screwdriver gently as well to coax it in to place. Mine wasn't hanging down because it didn't have a chain entangled so I had to find the area first. It was off but still tucked up out of clear sight from just looking under the Yukon quickly. But sliding under the vehicle it was easy to see.

    My 30 amp fuse appears to have melted. My guess is that would be WHY the rear AC wasn't working/blowing. Now my hope is that once I replace the 30 Amp fuse, I should be back in business. My question is, why would it melt, is it toast or prone to melt again and, of course, what part would I need to order to replace this part in the fuse box?

    • @robinsonsauto
      @robinsonsauto 6 дней назад

      Thank you for sharing your experience! Replacing the fuse is a good first step. It's always best to investigate the root cause to prevent future occurrences. this can be due to the blower motor drawing to many amps, or a short in the circuit wiring. there is other causes however these two are the most probable. check the air intake to the blower motor for restriction poor air flow can cause a higher load and heat. proactively clean the evaporator and surrounding area

    How did you line up the timing by rotating the cam shaft?

  • @Gadjix
    @Gadjix 7 дней назад

    My timing chain tensioner pin broke, in which I had to use vise gripped to twist it out. Unfortunately, this broke the side of the top head of the tensioner. Wish I could add a picture I took. Will the tensioner being moving back and forth over 1/4 inch causing this broken shaft area to be a problem? Or should I not take the chance and order another timing chain tensioner?

    • @robinsonsauto
      @robinsonsauto 6 дней назад

      It's important to ensure your timing chain tensioner is in good condition to prevent any issues down the line. Ordering a new one might be the safer bet.

    I have started using Dry Lube Spray (Graphite) on the Hub Face (after cleaning of course) it stays put, prevents corrosion and isn't greasy. Before that I used fluid Film or the PB Blaster equivalent. The Dry Lube also works well behind the caliper bracket hardware. I am going to try the CRC lube per your suggestion - I have been using Sil Glyde for the last 20 yrs. Another Trick I use is to clean the caliper piston boots before dismounting with brake clan and shop air and then pry back the pistons with a pry bar - then I can grab the caliper and check both pins and it also lets you know the pistons are freely moving and sets you up for your install. brass gold colored flakes means broken thrust washers between tc and intermediate shaft caused usually by a bad tcc solenoid and or valve body channel clogged ....all this is due to very dirty clutch pack debris in atf. Gray metallic debris means worn gear teeth in the gears...again dirty fluid clogged filters will regularly overheat beyond 220 degrees and this then leads to fast wear of internal rotating parts...

    Nice one Will. I had a very similar one in a Nissan Elgrand that I fixed almost NPR for a customer a month or so ago. Had all the correct inputs, good power, ground and square wave signal and the speed control resistor tested good. So I opened it up and found two of the spot welded tabs to the motor windings had simply come apart, (one of the copper bars that you cut but right at the motor terminal) I didn't have my soldering iron with me, so I scrubbed/cleaned between the two tabs with a small file and reconnected the two tabs with the female end of a 1/4" flat blade crimp terminal to clamp the two tabs back together, which slipped on perfectly and nice and tight. Worked a charm, and no chance of them coming apart again like they could if they were soldered.👍
